V2 2-6-2 No.60809 'The Snapper The East Yorkshire Regiment The Duke of York's Own' at an unknown location in the mid 1950's.
No. 60831 (L.N.E.R.4802) New England Triangle 1964 The triangle was the only means of turning engines at the MPD and gave its name to a local pub a frequent haunt of railway men going off duty
No. 60864 of New England shed on an 'up' freight approaching Peterborough in the winter of 1963 at Sages Lane, the hut to the left of the locomotive is a shelter for the Postman when making a TPO pick-up or drop.
An pair of unidentified V2 2-6-2's await their final fate at Swindon in 1964, just visible on the nearest one's smoke box door is the inscription 'Old Faithful' A total of 15 V2s ended their days at Swindon

Gresley designed K2 2-6-0 No. 61738 at an unknown location in the mid 1950's with a rather full tender
K4 2-6-0 No. 3442 (B.R. No.61994) Leeds Neville Hill c.1965 Built in July 1938, this locomotive was finally withdrawn from British Railways stock in December 1961 when it was purchased by Viscount Garnock for use on a number of rail tours until the 1968 ban on steam locomotives on the National Network brought this activity to a temporary end.
Class D3 4-4-0 No. 2000 formerly No. 4076 built in 1897, retained for use with the 'Directors Saloon' photographed at Grantham c.1947/8. This was the last locomotive of this class in service finally being withdrawn in October 1951
