GWR 'Saint' 4-6-0 No. 2950 'Taplow Court' at Reading c.1930s. This locomotive
was built at Swindon in May 1912 and withdrawn in September 1952. Photographer Unknown.

L.N.E.R. J21 0-6-0 No. 300 (B.R. 65068) Peterborough North Station 21st of May
1938 A veteran from 1890 being built at Darlington for the N.E.R. in December of that year. This locomotive remained in
service until June 1954

L.N.E.R. K3 2-6-0 No. 2443 (B.R. 61947) double heading with a Ex G.N.R.
Atlantic Peterborough North Station 1938. The locomotive at this time was only 3 years old, being built by NBL in September
1935

L.N.E.R. Class C1 4-4-2 No. 3279 (B.R. 62808) at Walton Peterborough on 6th
August 1938 The first two coaches behind the tender appear to be an articulated set This engine is photographed in its final
2 cylinder form, unique in having outside Walscharts valve gear - a legacy from its 4 cylinder days. After its rebuilding in
1938 it was allocated to New England M.P.D. In this photograph dated 06/08/1938 the coal in the tender is in bags, probably
to measure fuel consumption as the engine was not released to traffic until June 1938. This locomotive was built by the
G.N.R. in 1904 at Doncaster.

L.N.E.R. Class C1 4-4-2 No.4413 New England Yards Peterborough 1938 Built by
the G.N.R. in 1905 at Doncaster.

L.N.E.R. Class C1 4-4-2 No. 4459 Peterborough North Station 1938 Built by the
G.N.R. in 1910 at Doncaster.

L.N.E.R. Class C1 4-4-2 No. ???? at Sages Lane Peterborough 1938

A4 4-6-2 No. 4491 (B.R. 60012) 'Commonwealth of Australia' at Fletton Junction
1938

L.N.E.R. 4771 (B.R.60800) 'Green Arrow' the pioneer of the class stands at
Peterborough North Station in 1938. The V2 class introduced in 1936 once numbered 184 locomotives, 164 of these were built at
Darlington the remainder at Doncaster There is now only 1 survivor - 60800 (4771) 'Green Arrow' and now resides at the NRM
York.

L.N.E.R. 4786 (B.R.60815) built at Darlington in October 1937, is photographed
approaching Peterborough in 1938.

L.N.E.R. 4792 (B.R. 60821) built at Darlington in December 1937 and is seen at
Peterborough North Station in the summer of 1938.

L.N.E.R. D9 4-4-0 No. 6042 (Ex G.C.R.Class 11C) Peterborough North Station
14/05/1938 This locomotive had been recently transferred to the Eastern section, allocated to Peterborough East MPD and was
to be withdrawn just over a year later

M.R. 1400 or 1502 Class 2-4-0 Peterborough 1938 (only nos. 20225, 20216, 20251,
20266 & 20267 survived at this time)

A Midland Railway '483' Class 4-4-0, built in 1908 by Dubbs & Co. as No. 78
for the S.& D.J.R. renumbered by the L.M.S. to 321 is seen at Bath on the 31st of May 1931. This locomotive was withdrawn
in 1938. Photographer unknown.

L.M.S. 2-6-4T No. 2330 Built at Derby in February 1929 passes through
Peterborough North Station 1938

No.3499 (BR 43499) a Johnson 3F 0-6-0 at Derby on the 10th of November 1946.
